Genesis of Aquarion (創星のアクエリオン Sōsei no Akuerion) is a two-part OVA created and directed by Shoji Kawamori and produced by Satelight studio, divided into Wings of Betrayal (裏切りの翼 Uragiri no Tsubasa) and Wings of Glory (太陽の翼 Taiyō no Tsubasa, lit. "Wings of the Sun").
Plot Summery[]
In a distant future, there is an organization called DEAVA, which had to fight against the so-called Shadow Angels, creatures that had survived for over 12,000 years whose only purpose was to destroy humanity. Apollo, a seemingly normal human (though actually the reincarnation of the angel-dog Pollon), was assumed to be the reincarnation of a fallen Angel of Massacre called Apollonius, who in turn had to fight against Toma, a Shadow Angel, along with his comrades in order to prevent the destruction of the Earth.
The OVA continues with the same base storyline of the anime series but shows a different world where Sirius dies in battle, Apollo lives the forest beside the DEAVA HQ, and everyone is scared of the one who will betray them all - Scorpius - and his return in a new life, whom everybody believes to be Silvia.

- The OVA...
- Initially appears to be an alternate retelling of the series, but at the end is revealed to be a prequel.
- Takes place during the Celestial Genesis Era, while the TV series takes place during the Holy Genesis Era. The transition between the two occurs when the previous world (the OVA) is accidentally destroyed, and is then recreated with an altered series of events (the TV series).
- The entire OVA series, along with its compilation film, is the only series in the Aquarion franchise to not be dubbed in English,
